2022 Gifts - $145,000!

WHO OUR 2021 FUNDS HELPED:

In December of 2022, JoAnn B. Ficke Cancer Foundation President and Metro State University of Denver Head Men’s Basketball Coach Dan Ficke proudly presented the following gifts at a celebratory luncheon:

  • $35,000 to the Cancer League of Colorado to help local researchers working on lymphoma and breast cancer research; Cancer League is able to leverage the donation sometimes up to 20 times for additional funding through partnerships!
  • $35,000 to the Brent's Place which provides safe and clean housing to improve the quality of life for children and families living with cancer and other immunocompromising conditions.
  • $30,000 to Ray of Hope Cancer Foundation which elps meet the urgent needs of Coloradoans fighting cancer with a goal that no Colorado cancer patient in need goes without support.
  • $25,000 to the Children’s Hospital Foundation which is dedicated to fighting pediatric cancer, fixing broken bones and making a world where no parent wakes up at night worrying what’s next.
  • $10,000 to the Colorado Ovarian Cancer Alliance which provides support to those affected by ovarian cancer to help raise awareness and early detection of ovarian cancer with education and advocacy.
  • $10,000 to the Colorectal Cancer Alliance which works help knock colon cancer out of the top three of cancer killers and has the goal of ending colorectal cancer in our lifetime

In late 2021, JoAnn B. Ficke Cancer Foundation President and then Belmont Abbey College (now Metro State University of Denver) Head Men’s Basketball Coach Dan Ficke proudly presented the following gifts at a celebratory luncheon:

2020 Gifts - $145,000!

December 21, 2020: Dan Ficke, Belmont Abbey Head Men’s Basketball Coach  and President of the JoAnn B. Ficke Cancer Foundation, carried on his annual tradition of making a difference in the lives of others in his hometown. Dan presented (in a socially-distanced manner!) an astonishing $145,000 in gifts to representatives from six great organizations in Colorado who are helping families fighting cancer.

Since starting in 2009, through the generous contributions from Big Bill's NY Pizza customers, Dan and his Foundation have raised more than $1.5 Million!
